From Queensland's mighty Beyer-Garratt No. 1009 to New South Wales' AD60 Class 6029 — the largest operational steam locomotive in the Southern Hemisphere — Victoria's H220 Heavy Harry, Tasmania's Q Class Q5, South Australia's 520 Class Sir Malcolm Barclay-Harvey, Western Australia's V Class V1220, and the Commonwealth Railways G Class G1, each coin captures a defining chapter in Australia's rail heritage. The vivid colour printing faithfully mirrors each locomotive's historical livery.
Each of the seven 50c cupro-nickel uncirculated coins measures 24.6mm, depicting its locomotive in intricate shallow relief. Limited to a mintage of 35,000, the set is presented in a beautiful collector folder with informative essays on each engine's significance and preservation.
