Sheaffer Sentinel - Gloss Black/Chrome Gold BP

Description

The same all-metal Sentinel, but warmed up considerably by gold-tone trim in place of chrome. Gloss black barrel, brushed cap, and gold at the clip and fittings - a more traditional combination, and the one that reads as a gift rather than a workhorse.

Gold trim tends to expose a cheap pen, which is rather the point of putting it on this one: the Sentinel body is metal throughout, so the proportions and weight can carry it. Click-top action, and it takes the standard Sheaffer K-style ballpoint refill.

Sentinel has been in the Sheaffer catalogue in one form or another since the 1940s.
