The Sentinel name is one of the oldest still in use at Sheaffer. From the 1940s until 1959 it denoted any White Dot pen fitted with a stainless steel cap, and the current collection keeps faith with that idea: a slim, unfussy metal pen that earns its place by being used rather than admired.
This one pairs a matt black lacquered barrel with a brushed chrome cap and chrome trim, the two textures playing off each other nicely. It works on a simple click-top mechanism and takes Sheaffer's K-style ballpoint refill, so replacements are easy to come by. At this price it is the sensible answer to the question of what to keep in the car, the kitchen drawer or a jacket you actually wear.
