Description
VFM is Sheaffer's answer to a specific problem: most pens at this price are plastic. This one is not. The barrel is lacquered metal with a sleek tapered profile, closer to aerodynamic than cylindrical, finished in a soft matt black and trimmed in bright nickel-plated chrome.
The weight is the giveaway. Pick it up and it sits in the hand with a heft that plastic simply cannot fake, which is much of why the VFM has stayed in the range as long as it has. Retractable ballpoint action, taking Sheaffer's standard ballpoint refill.
A genuinely good first proper pen, and an easy one to give.
